Spent 20 years packing on 135 extra pounds as a college student and programmer. Now that I've gotten licensed as an RN, I can't give dietary advice without falling into that old 'Do as I say, not as I do' trap, so it's time to drop all that extra and lead by example. Currently working on finishing up my BSN.

Achieved:
275 (25# loss) - Nature Company Naturalist Vest (Large)
250 (50# loss) - 8 oz bag of Gevalia Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee

Still to Accomplish:
225 (75# loss) - Pair of vibram shoes
200 (100# loss) - TBD
175 (125# loss) - TBD

Phase 1 of diet complete. (Phase in which I did little exercise, ate poorly nutritious foods that I liked, simply in smaller amounts and balanced to stay low carb.)

Starting phase 2 - more exercise, more calorie intake, more vegetables, less processed meat, more of my fats from vegetable sources.

New clothing as I drop will be its own reward as well. I've moved from 48" jeans to 40's, and bought my first pair of non-'big and tall' pants in years.

(BTW, I am NOT a nutritional specialist, so any advice I give out here is one dieter to another, not 'medical advice'. I am an advocate of low-carb dieting, based on my knowledge of cellular metabolic processes, but it has its dangers, and should be discussed with your physician before being attempted.)
