I gained a lot of weight after I turned 35. This year before my 40th birthday I had a cancer scare and started a ketogenic diet to starve potential cancer cells of fuel to grow (glycogen). I dodged a bullet but kept going because the diet was helping me to finally take off the weight that my former diet and exercise combo couldn't budge.
