We were invited to a cookout so I played it safe by only eating a light breakfast because I didn't know what I was in store for. When we got there, there were a lot of fairly healthy snacks like hummus and salsa. I used veggies to dip instead of tortilla chips or crackers. Unfortunately, though, they were also serving frozen peach margaritas, from fresh peaches from their backyard tree! How could I resist?! The main fair was grilled chicken, kosher hotdogs, and chicken sausages, along with various salads (tuna/pasta, tortellini, potato), and fresh tomatoes from the garden. For dessert there were fruit salads, cookies, and a homemade peach cobbler! I did pretty good, considering. I stayed within my total calorie count! In fact I have a few hundred calories left over. I'm so glad I am back to this site and journalling because I knew I would have to come clean and that kept the temptations at bay!

Walked to and from work again today. It was much cooler and quite pleasant. Stayed within my calorie count for the day, even had to find something to eat at the end of the day cause I didn't want to leave too many calories on the books. In the past this has caused me to go into starvation mode and my weight loss stalls. Have the next 3 days off and hope to make the best of it. Will continue to journal and log.
I have a question. If anyone knows please post a reply. I want to change my official diet from Atkins back to my own diet (i.e. just staying within the calorie range and trying to make that as low carb as I can but not as rigid as Atkins). If I do this, will this reset my "starting weight?" It seems to have done this before. Is there any way around this? I guess it doesn't matter that much, I just wanted to true up.

Walked to work today, only about a half mile one way. Still a bit humid so I was a little warm when I got there but the AC was on (we're all mostly menopausal, lol). Pacing out my meals and snacks has been good, trying not to let myself get hungry. Walking home tonight will be slightly more difficult as it is mostly uphill but no pain, no gain, right?

Today our work started the weight loss challenge. We are on 2 separate teams of 4. We're going by percentage weight loss per week like on the show. Twice a week after work we are going to work out and I am going to try to walk every day. Keeping track of everything I eat has always been the best way for me to be successful. That is why I love this site/app. Accountability is powerful. Still light out now so I'm going for a walk. Good luck to everyone else on this journey to lose weight and be healthy...
