And back again after a rather extended break.
Looking after Mum back in 2020 throughout the pandemic took up so much time as her health deteriorated, in that she became totally immobile and all the issues that can be caused by that.... pressure sores, incontinence etc etc. I simply did not have the time to play.
2022 things came to a head the day Mum could not get up using the aids that I had in place for her and after emergency nurses had been to get her up and cleaned, we put her into her wheel chair, called a taxi and sadly Mum moved into the residential care home where she had spent respite time. This was not my choice but I could not get the 3 times daily help I needed to keep Mum at home. I was offered 1 hour on a Thursday each week!!!
Mum has settled into the home and just celebrated her 93rd birthday a couple of weeks ago, I visit twice a week, keeping her supplied with chocolates and biscuits and she is quite happy.
DH and I went back to work for CAMC last year just working as cover for wardens on their week off in Scotland, but we felt we had been out of work too long and found the commitment too limiting, so this year we are just available for emergency cover. I officially became a pensioner end of last year and have my bus pass at the ready. Still managing to keep my weight steady at 57kg (9 stone in old money) but my sugar levels have gone up to almost diabetic so here I am determined to get it sorted somehow, and will be monitoring my diet and exercise....mind you 2nd day in and a hotcross bun hasn't helped my calorie intake, though that is the only treat I've had this week, so I think a small digression is allowed.
Well thats me up to date. I hope to see some challenges coming up, must be time to get the Sassies back I think!

Seem to have gained weight this week, not sure why, but will try to be more mindful of my diet.
