Up 1/2 a pound? Up 1/2 a pound? I followed the diet EXACTLY yesterday and have been following exactly pretty much since I started Monday. I didn't sleep the best....could that be it? I felt really stressed out about things in my relationship and things with school and finances...could that be it? I just don't understand it! I am really really hating myself right now!!!

dont fret it may (and probably) is water weight something albeit diet friendly may just make you retain water keep an eye im sure it'll go again given a day or two! sleep will have an effect on weight loss but i still dont know in what capacity??!!

Fluctuations happen, and are caused by all kinds of factors. You are way too hard on yourself girl! If I freaked out about every blip on the scale I wuld have given up siz months(and 25 pounds) ago! so hang in there!

Yes, if you are going to weigh yourself everyday, you need to understand that your weight will fluctuate constantly (hormones, sodium, time of the month, stress, etc). Your body is made up of 60% water. It doesn't mean you are gaining fat. It's just a natural body process. As long as the overall weekly/monthly trend is downward, you are doing great!

Very good advice up above! I like to weigh every day, but it really is frustrating when the scale rises a bit, even though you tell youself it's only water weight. Remember that you would have to over-eat 3500 calories (or half here 1750) to gain a pound of fat. So it can't be fat. Do you track your measurements at all? Hang in there! Please don't hate yourself.

It is normal to have 3 pound gains from sodium etc...happens to me too. I watch my weight daily so I know what's causing me the gains, but I only weigh in here once a week, unless I post a loss that I'm sure I'll hold onto. our bodies have a normal 3-4 pound window of weight, it can easily go up or down for many different reasons. Your job is to pay attention to what makes it happen for you and use that knowledge to avoid whatever gains you can. Obviously you cant avoid that water retention from that time of month (unless youre like me and dont have that anymore) but you can avoid other triggers. For me pork does it every time! Also if I have too many carbs in one day or too much meat. I know this know from watching my weight as you are doing. you're doing a great job. The SB book says you should lose 1-2 pounds a week, you seem to be doing just that so BRAVO. Take the good news! You're doing just fine!

Also, the book says, "if you hit a stall or do not lose 1-2 pounds a week, it is most likely because you are getting too many bad carbs in your diet. Hope that helps!

Thanks to everyone for the comments...I've kept up with the diet today and done everything I can to make sure that if I'm not losing weight at least it can't be tracked back to my food intake, haha. But seriously thank you all very much! It means a lot to me to know that I have your support!!!!
