This morning had a banana & Timmie's strudel with my coffee. Didnt need the strudel, but an extra 10 cents satisfied the ol sugar craving.

Quick research shows 118g banana has about 110 cals, with a GI just below 50 (wasnt fully ripe). This means the 27g of carbs will hit my blood sugar level fairly slowly, restricting the production of insulin that would lead to fat storage.

The 50g strawberry-cheese strudel has 160 cals, and a GI of about 75! So the 18g of carbs will hit my blood sugar really fast, while providing 9g of fat which is easily stored by my spiked insulin! This certainly causes ANYBODY eating it to store FAT.

In conclusion, 50g strudel does not satisfy my hunger like 118g banana. Also, the banana will provide me with longer lasting energy, and potentially with more energy PERIOD because alot of the calories in the strudel (in the form of fat) will be stored!

Note to self, don't buy junk food because its cheap and to satisfy your (drug) addiction to refined sugars. Remember, a second apple pie at McDonald's is an extra 10 cents!! The devil runs this world.
