Must have had too much salt a couple of days ago.
I just turned 56 last Sunday. The day after my birthday, I had a lady come to my house to buy something I'd put on craigslist, and when I told her about buying it 25 years ago, she asked me how old I was, thinking it was impossible I could've had something that long. She thought I was in my 30s. That's a nice present.
And yet I wish we didn't have to fear looking our age. It bothers me that allowing ourselves to look old is undesirable. And yet I still color my hair because I don't want to be judged negatively, since it would affect my biz.
This morning was glorious. It's in the 60s and feels like spring and here it is December. I walked my dog to the end of the road, which is something I should do daily, but now do only a couple of times a week. It felt good.
Yesterday I made my own version of red beans and rice with sausage and chicken. It was delicious. Shared it with the guys who are still remodeling our house. Hopefully it will be complete before we have our family come over on Dec. 23.
