I like seeing the dot drop! I'm sure it will stall at some point, but I won't be discouraged.
Last night we went to our neighborhood cafe for some Sicilian spaghetti. I ate more than I should have, but less than I usually would, so that's a plus.
The weather was very blustery last night. The wind was whistling through our front porch screen and roaring in the chimney. We had hot cocoa and watched the first few episodes of Downton Abbey on Netflix. Loving this show!
Our home remodeling project continues. With the torrential rain yesterday, we discovered a new and horrifying leak. Our contractor is a rare gem, so he came out in the midst of the storm to try to figure out what had happened. This time it came from underground instead of the roof. One of the old clay pipes that was supposed to divert water around the house must be blocked and broken at the foot of our stairwell, so we had standing water there. This was not a problem he caused... it's one of those problems that comes with an old house. And so the unexpected bills keep mounting. It's easy to be house poor. And this isn't a very big house, thank goodness.
