After the cheesecake at 3am the night before I didn't eat again until 2pm yesterday. I certainly didn't plan to go so long without eating but my father in laws endoscopy took much longer than expected. I was terribly gassy, my stomach hurt and I generally felt like crap. When I stopped to get him something to eat I was feeling defiant and not really caring about making good food choices. It was like I was already feeling poorly I might as well go whole hog, so to speak. So I got myself something that was not atkins friendly and later, for my last meal of the day, something else that was not atkins friendly. Blew the whole day. No excuses and I can't really explain why. I was fiercely committed to the atkins way of eating when I started on march 1. Desperate to lose this regain of about 80lbs because of my back and leg pain. I had just journaled about recommitting and making a fresh start and then I didn't. So far today I've made good choices and for this moment I am committed. I'm just going to hold on for however long it takes me to get back into ketosis where I will have little hunger, little appetite, and no cravings.

Don't worry, we all have things in life that never workout the way we plan them to. It's part of life and me for one do not think badly or anything negative about what you did. As they say S*** happens, your back on track and that is the main thing. Just take it one day at a time.

I've tried Atkins at least 30 times. I can't stick to that diet at all. But if you can, good luck to you!

One day off the wagon does not mean all is lost! --- The ideas of Atkins are alright, i am sorry to say most people don't read his whole philosophy, and then it is just another diet meant for people that need to loose 10 pounds quick! commitment + plan = success.
