madanjen's Logboek, 17 mei 14

Nothing gained, nothing lost. Could be worse. Assuming I'm still at my current weight on Monday, my goal for next week will be a little loftier and one thing will make it easier. I've stopped dating a girl that was really bad for both my long term health and short term weight loss. I will try to lose 5 pounds next week and really work hard to do so.

Though I love red wine, I don't do a whole lot of other drinking; maybe a sapphire martini or some scotch once in a while. Though she was not an exclusive girlfriend, we went out often and she would get really drunk and tried to get me to do the same. I like a party as much as most but I set limits which I try to follow. When I said I couldn't see her anymore she thought I meant I didn't like her and was really hurt, even after I told her why. I did say if she can just tone it down, we can date again.

Have you ever had someone that was not right for you at the time or was a hindrance to getting healthy? Did you ever let them back in your life?

I dated a guy for about 4 Years a little like your story. I didnt talk to him for a good year. He moved 3 hours away and now we talk on phone pretty much everyday. He is real supportive of my plan and goals..

That's good Wendi. Maybe talking on the phone is what I need to do with this girl. I like most things about her but have things I need to do. I guess if I was one that is lacking in companionship I may think differently but I have plenty of friends who I date when time allows. And wholefood, you are right, it could drag a person down. Hopefully I inspired a change in her thinking at least.
