Losing ten pounds would feel much better if I didn't have cancer :\ ... But I'm in treatment, get to keep my hair, and fully expect remission! Multiple myeloma is treatable but not curable. I have noticed that my middle is still about the same size, unlike last time, when I cud tell a real difference. So, unfortunately, I'm prolly losing muscle instead of fat. Hope to be able to go to the pool at the Y soon...hoping that will help!

Did your Oncologist suggest for you to lose weight? If not, I would urge you to get his recommendations and if he agrees he would probably Set you up with a consult with a nutritionist to make sure this is done safely and sanely. This is a time when your body may be content with stability.

Eat more protein. That will preserve muscle and allow your muscle mass to increase to burn fat. It also is integral in repairing cellular damage from chemo.

Prayers, positive energy and positive thoughts for you in your journey. I know it is tough and scary. Please stay positive! You need to keep up your strength to fight. Doctor B gave you great advice.

What does your oncologist say about weight loss, diet, etc? Maybe you should check with her/him.
