Why is it my dear hubby does not want to listen to me? I keep telling him..... He complains constantly about how he's not losing very much weight and that he's tired a lot and he gets up a lot at night to use the bathroom.... I told him first of all he drank almost a whole powerade zero at 9pm AND a glass of water and started to drink a pop. Really?? You're wondering why you have to pee at 3am when you just drank all that??? I also told him he's starting to slide back into his old habits of eating just to be eating. He has popcorn every night around the same time, 9pm. I keep telling him are you having the popcorn because you're hungry or because it's time? He's starting to eat a lot more calories as well. I told him you're going back to your old fat habits and you need to get yourself in check and hold yourself accountable. He makes excuses and doesn't realize HE is the one doing it, no one else.... Men... I just don't get it sometimes.

He is in the land of denial, we have all been there, hoping that the weight will fall of without changing how we eat and exercise. Unfortunately pointing out where he is going wrong probable won't help, try to be supportive when he does things right and hope that he find the motivation to change.

Great advice. He has to want it bad enough to make changes in his eating habits. You are doing great! Stay as you are! Keep feeding him healthy food and if he eats other stuff ... it's his health he is gambling with. You must do this for you.

You could try and compromise with him. All the 97% FF popcorn and sugar free pop he wants 3 hours before bedtime. Then start weaning him down little by little until there is no more popcorn in the house. Replace it with roasted chickpeas or other salty crunchy snacks and flavor teas. My husband has terrible self control. If there is a box of zingers in front of him, he's gonna eat them. No matter if they are good for him or not. Maybe your husband just needs to borrow some of your will power. Good luck, I try to get my husband to stop drinking pepsi and eating junk everyday so far I've had no luck but my husband is super skinny and would turn to dust without them.

I am a chocoholic. Always have always will i could easily eat my rdi in choc in one evening now i weigh out my evening portion and that's it. But that's my choice nobody made me. If he wants to he will, if he doesn't he won't. Since i started my wife's portions etc have changed and she has lost a few pounds. So as others have said, you stick to it and effect his intake by your meals.

Ok. First thing he can do is lose the added caloric intake with liquids. Water is the best for losing weight. Powerade is all sugar, pop/soda/cola is sugar. If you commit it has to be 100%, drinking sweetened liquids will only slow down the progress. Another good rule of thumb is don't eat after 7pm. Its tough and I find myself eating after that since I get home at 7pm but its a good rule. Men usually lose weight faster than women but you have to be committed. If hubby doesn't want to lose weight...don't let that affect you, you stay on track and when he sees you slimming down he will follow. Us men..we are simple.

You can't do this for him - try not to beat your self up over it - all you can do is provide healthy alternatives. I find if I have a bowl of veggies cut up in the fridge the family will eat it - I also make fruit infused waters and keep them on hand - Often is is habit, comfort or boredom. Keep taking care of your self! And if you are the shopper - he can't eat what you don't buy!
