I am fasting. i.e not eating food and giving my digestive system a break. I am making sure to drink water with electrolytes added (sodium/potassium/magnesium)
I am also allowing myself herbal teas so I dont get bored. (no milk/no sugar). Fasting can be dangerous if you dont break it properly. Please dont do this unless you are well versed on the subject. Its also not advised as it hasnt taught a person how to eat properly when they do re-feed themselves and they may pile the weight back on. However there is a long history of fasting (especially spiritual/religions) and there are benefits if done correctly.

How long are you water fasting for? I'm very well versed on the topic and a very experienced therapeutic water faster. 55kg is not a very high weight to start from, so what are you hoping to gain from this fast?

I don't agree with any type of fasting personally. But I have seen it gets some outstanding results

Jamilda: The last time I fasted was a few years ago for 14 days. This time I dont have a set date. I plan to fast for as long as I feel good doing so. (ignoring the first 3 days of my stomach protesting). Its now summer and a good time of the year to do this for my health.

I've done four 14 day fasts now, and one considerably longer, but they were all to help get rid of cancer cells. It's good to read you know how to break a fast correctly. Personally I find intermittent fasting better for actual weight loss. Every kilo I ever lost when water fasting came back, which is normal. You can't empty your stomach and not see some weight gain when you start eating again. Good luck 🙂

Jamilda: Thats amazing. Are you clear of cancer now? I do hope so. You are a strong person to have taken such active measures. I am not bothered by the potential weight loss/regain. I know from my last experience it may not stay off. I'm recording my weight to monitor myself and make sure i dont dip too low (size 12 despite having a small frame)

@sammysylvain Even though every test after my fasts showed the cancer cells were gone, I ended up taking surgical measures. I was extremely happy that I didn't need to do chemo or radiation therapy. Now I try to keep my sugar intake low, and do some intermittent fasting weekly so the rest of me remains cancer free.

I would do anything to avoid chemo/radiation too. Well done for having the wits about you and the willpower under such trying times.
