afernow's Logboek, 16 nov 10

Today I am going to focus on eating at "0" and listen to my God Given Hunger cues. I look in the mirror yesterday, yup at my naked 168 lbs self. I really focus on the positive and gave thanks that my body is pleasing to my husband. It wasn't easy to just think positive. But it was okay. Blessings to all of you.

Hi - how to you recognize those cues? My problem is that i am honestly hungry 90% of the time

I think I used to think I was hungry all the time too. My problem was and still is that I love to eat. I love the taste of food. It takes time, practice, observing and correction and lots of prayer. I think about the fact that my stomach is the size of my fist when empty, so it doesn't take much to full it up and be satisfied physically. When my stomach is growling that is a sure sign of hunger. I decide what I want to eat, nothing is off limit. I find after a few bites my stomach is not growling anymore and after a few more bites I am comfortable. I think the hardest thing is stopping when it does taste good, but I really try to be in tune with my body and hunger cues. I am reading Thin Within. It is really good and helpful. We all have eating habits that are not healthy, such as eating in front of the TV. Your brain is trained to want food along with watching TV, not your physical hunger. Another habit we have formed is that we are to eat at certain times of the day each and every day regardless what our physical hunger is. I hope this gives you something to ponder on.
