Today I had a lunch appointment with a friend, and to my bad luck, he wanted to go to one of our favorite places that offers delicious pizza and pasta. Ah, and salads.
Whenever I go there, I eat a spaghetti bolognesa or a big Ceasar salad with chicken. I don't even want to think of the amount of calories that those two dishes have, so this time I went for a healthy salad (as healthy as they can offer it there).
I had a big salad (might have been 160 grs.) of lettuce, carrot, mushrooms,tomatoes, cheese, and a small portion of chicken. I didn't add dressing, but only half a lemon and a spoon of chili oil; and I ate one small slice of bread; and I drank water.
OMG!! it was soooo hard for me to eat that healthy in such a place! smelling and seeing other people's food made it very hard for me, I coulnd't fully enjoy my food as I was really thinking of the delicious dishes that other people had. On the other hand, I'm proud that even though for a minute I seriously thought of ordering pasta, my willing to lose weight was stronger :)
However, when looking at the calorie intake for this salad, I still see that it was not very light and that it still represents quite a few calories that I could have avoided. Worst thing is that I feel a bit hungry.
I guess this is normal. Some days are harder than others, and today is one of the hard ones. On the positive side, I will do Zumba today so I will lose some of the calories, which might allow me to pamper me with a tiiiiny chocolate for my strenght during lunchtime.
