slynn_lynn's Logboek, 22 feb 14

Got in all my exercise today and feel really good about it. Actually did 48 minutes on the treadmill with barely a thought, but I did break a nice sweat by the end. 15 minutes of calisthenics and leg lifts then while making Leona's dinner, I did 100 counter push ups just to keep moving. For someone who's hated exercise all her life, I'm really finding that I miss it when I don't do it.

I went to town yesterday to get a new bathing suit for the cruise (ended up getting two AND one was a two piece!!! Never in my life have I owned a two piece bathing suit) and when I got dressed, had to use a new belt for my jeans and moved up to the next loop. What a great feeling!! I used to hate how my pants would pinch and make me feel stuffed in when I was driving, and while I still have the muffin top when I sit down, it's not near as bad and no pinching. Progress.

Personally I feel clothes are the best reward! Now you can drive in comfort and emerge from the car in confidence!

It's a horrible feeling when clothes are always so darn TIGHT. Especially when you sit. Congrats on the good feelings; you've more than earned it. ;)

Too true, BuffyBear. Slynn_lynn, that is awesome news. I drive to my brother's in Seattle a few times a year and I always have to dress for driving. I hate it that I have slightly bigger thighs than some women and even if I THINK my pants fit alright, when I drive for too long they really get put to the test. And shorts? Forget it! The only length of shorts that DON'T pinch me when sitting for extended periods is -- capris! Not really shorts at all, lol. Yes, it feels great to have our clothes finally fit comfortably. Funny thing is, we usually get so excited about our clothes starting to get loose that we either bring out our old clothes or buy some new clothes and then we get to suffer from THEM not fitting quite right yet, lol.

Lol, thank you all for the support. It means a lot to me. I'm really pushing for a few more pounds before the cruise--they do have the onboard gym, so I will def be utilizing that, but I know my routine will be challenged because of the change in venue. As long as I can get in a solid 45 minutes just on the treadmill, I think I'll be more than good. Plus, with all the moving around on shore excursions, that will add to the activity level. Last year, when my daughter and I went, I didn't really watch what I ate, but I did try to stick to lots of fruits and salads, with occasional SOS thrown in. I can say I only gained 2 lbs, which really surprised me. This time around, I'm much more aware, so even if I don't lose anything, I'm hoping to maintain, which is fine with me.
