SkIn Im In's Logboek, 28 apr 14

so i know its only the second day.. but i suck at portioning. i try something i like and i just eat too much. and then theres so much guilt to what you eat. any tips to just eat what i need? to stop saying just one more?

I think it's just something you have to work at. I do the same thing, if we're eating pizza I can't eat just one slice, it's 2 then 3 then 4.... Some things I can just eat the suggested serving, like cookies- I can say, "Ok, 4 thin mints is 160 calories, so I'm only eating 4." and then that's all I eat. I don't know why I can do that with girl scouts thin mints and not with little caesars pizza. But I'm getting better at it. I've also learned to work my calories around what I'm eating. If I know we're eating pizza cause we have people over then I am eating light breakfast and lunch. I eat a pretty light breakfast and lunch anyways, because dinner is always my favorite meal anyways =) Each time you go to eat decide ahead how much you are eating, it's not an overnight thing, but it gets easier as you keep working at it. The only way to fail at this is giving up, so anything else is moving forward.

buy tupperwear or plastic baggies and break things down by portions when you are not hungry and then just grab a pre portioned pack when you are hungry. planning ahead works for me, if i wait until i am hungry to think about portion size i eat the whole bag or box.
