Peter's tests at the hospital went well... nothing requiring a biopsy.
Went to the mall and walked for 75 minutes while waiting for a call that he was ready to be picked up. First time I'd been in a large mall since Christmas, 2019, and I was not comfortable. There are still 20% of eligible adults in Ontario who have not been vaccinated. I hope that continues to go up, but don't expect it to get higher than probably 85%.
Heard yesterday that a nursing home with 96% of its residents fully vaccinated has another Covid outbreak. One death and 15 people infected so far, including one staff person. I believe that all people working with vulnerable populations should be required to be fully vaccinated as a job requirement.

So glad to hear that Peter's test went well. I am nervous in malls and large indoor gatherings also. Re nursing homes and health care facilities, I totally agree that vaccination should be required. As my state's law stands, facilities are banned from requiring any vaccination -- and this just puts patients and the facilities themselves at risk. (In my opinion) The anti-science crowd has too much influence on our legislators.

And now that masks are out - we have no way of knowing who's not vaccinated. I'm still avoiding indoor public spaces and outdoor crowded places.

80% is actually a good number. My state is about 70% vaccinated but my county is only 45%. Still, our county positivity rate for new infections is below 1%. I don't really understand why, unless the non-vaccinated people have already had Covid. But that's the number I really keep my eye on.
