Sherillynn's Logboek, 08 mei 11

I sure can feel some muscles that I didn't know I had after yesterday's hay extravaganza. I slept like a baby. No, I take that back. I slept like the dead!
The weather here is finally resembling spring. I went out to take a look at the bee hives and they seem to be adjusting quite well. I had to refill all of their syrup. The neighborhood raccoons seem to know how to get the sugar feeders off at night and lick the jars. I think they'll only be able to do that a little while longer because as soon as those hives get stronger, they'll sting Mr. Raccoon to death for his thievery. The bees were coming in loaded with pollen and when I pulled the frames out to check, it looks like they've done quite well drawing out some of the wax and getting some nectar stored already. The only thing I really see blooming here is the dandelions but it must be enough. I'm crossing my fingers for a good crop of Iowa honey this year! YUMMY!
