Sherillynn's Logboek, 18 mei 11

I have been so busy with my new job and not able to fill in my food diary but I've been watching what I eat and it is finally paying off. After 3 days of fat fast, I've gone back to the induction principles but have been very strict. No processed meats, no Atkins bars, limited Splenda, no diet soda, and no bacon. I know I am getting my veggies but just cannot weigh and measure at work. (and therefore no idea what my calories are but I am not hungry. Not snacking either. no time.) Anyways, finally I am losing again. I am thrilled.

I will stay on Induction for two weeks again and then move to OWL. Tough stuff to backtrack and fast but totally worth it if it gets me losing again. I've been here just over 2 months and its the best thing I've done for myself in a long time.

Lots of new calves to tag here on a nightly basis so that has been my exercising. That also hasn't been logged but mostly because that darn exercise tracker has no heading for "calf tagging" as an option.

I am so blessed with this new job and the weight still slowly coming off. My husband is feeling better. I love my new job. Life is good.

You sound happy :) and that's a good thing! And energized to get this ball rolling again... and that's a very good thing! As for weighing and measuring... in the beginning I spent a couple of weeks measuring everything. And getting used to what that looked like. Then, after a while I would take my 'portions' and guess what they weighed - was this really a 'cup' or 6 oz's of something, etc.? and made a little game out of it! Then I would randomly take that portion to the scale and measure it to see how close was I really! Turns out your 'eyeballing' of things can be taught to be quite accurate. But when you stop thinking about it all together, your portions get bigger. But when you are focused on serving a cup to yourself, you can become pretty darn close! (just record what you think is the closest measurement. A tsp, or a tblsp - a 1/2 cup or a cup and a half - etc. YOU are doing a FANTASTIC job staying focused!!! Much Love.

Hi Sherrillyn! I eyeball measure (and weigh) foods a lot, and as JS pointed out it is pretty accurate after doing it for a while, Good work on your loss and good luck in the new job.

I try to eyeball a lot too but then I hate to record it since i know it won't be accurate. I know. I need to get over it. I did go back and estimate at the advice of AuntiJan and jsfantome! I guess its better than nothing!
