Lately I've been struggling to eat enough calories (hence the frozen Oreos and all the bacon). Yesterday I decided to go out to lunch (Noodles & Co. Is the best) to make sure I'd be in the right ballpark. Really not a problem I expected to be having. Tomorrow is supposed to be a low calorie day, so I want to make sure to eat sufficiently today. I guess I should add some fat. That's the best way to get calories, but my appetite is nonexistent.

Anyone else have this problem?

you should eat the calories ,don't use cal. count as a dressing or soft drinks form. If you don't feel like you don't wanna eat-don't, just have a healthy snack ready by your side when you get those munchies :)

Fat tends to satiate the appetite and although more calories initially, it may be causing you to feel less hungry for proteins...or veggies and fruit, or whatever you are used to consuming. OF course, I am doing ketogenic approach right now, so fat is my go to food. LOL

I've noticed that your daily calorie intake seems to be very low... When someone stays in those low numbers for a while their sense of being full and hungry is suppose to get our of order. That could be the reason... Or maybe you need vitamins, if you've been eating so little for a while that might be the issue... Or it might be both. It looks that your normal daily intake is under 1000 calories, right? When I was in a similar situation I had to put myself on the schedule of eating every 3 hours, and I had a list of portions and meal sizes from my doctors... Even now If I fast half day on Saturdays, it messed with my appetite somewhat... By the way, you look very pretty in that picture!!!

At first I was only logging my low calorie days, which I do twice a week, the days around 500. They're are a couple days logged right after a "fast" day to keep an eye on how much I was eating, and I know there are a few times I stopped logging after lunch. On my regular calorie days I have been eating about 1500 kcal, but recently I've been trying to bring my regular days closer to my maintenance level.

The point of the low calorie day is to give you the calorie deficit all at once, and then you eat at your TDEE the rest of the week. Is gotten so used to eating 1500 that I kind of did that by default. I'm trying to bump up my intake on the other days so I don't hit (or at least prolong my time until) the dreaded plateau. I think part of the problem is that I ended up shifting my normal eating times. I've been exercising more (another reason to increase calories) which is great but it always suppresses my appetite too. And it's hot. Ugh. What I might end up doing is hold off on my next "fast" day until I get my appetite a little more normalized. Thanks IngaViolet, I took it yesterday after a walk. My dog phitobombed it in true Charlie-fashion.

It's a tricky business. Sounds like a good idea to postpone your fast day. I'm sure hot weather suppresses the appetite, and it must slow the base metabolism, as we don't need to expend energy in keeping our body temperatures up. Too many variables! But you are close to your first weight goal, so maybe you could ease up a bit?

I'd say our approach is worth trying. It sounds like something I would try. Scary, right?
