Eight years ago today, I lost my stomach and a portion of my intestines. Who needs those organs anyway? It was also the beginning of an unplanned 63-day fast. Imagine living—no, hanging on to dear life—drinking water and eating jello. The starvation part wasn't as bad as my mother making full meals and the smell of her cooking them in the kitchen. She said, "This is your new life, you have to learn to adapt." I'm going to remind her of this when I ship her off to a home. Just kidding.

I dont understand? What caused that and how are you able to eat now without a stomach? We have miles of intestines but the stomach? It looks like you had already lost some weight when you were hospitalized? Thank goodness you are still here and strong.

To my surprise, you don't need a stomach to digest food if you chew it well or drink your meals. Protein is the most important thing for me to consume, as it keeps muscle loss to a minimum. My digestive system was destroyed due to Crohn's Disease. There are people among us who have also lost their stomachs because of cancer. I eat small portions, and I eat constantly. It works out pretty well, but being social at dinner is an ordeal. I tend to shy away from those settings. And don't get me started on being invited over for Sunday dinner and the host being upset because I refuse large quantities of food. Those who know me understand. It's tiring to have to tell the same story to chefs at restaurants who think I do not like the meal that was prepared.

Yes, I had to lose weight from my 500 pounds down to about 420 pounds. The larger you are, the more likely you will die during the procedure. Also, losing weight allowed the liver to reduce in size, which is necessary for this type of surgery. Everything was done with four small incisions in the abdomen.

WM i thought i had been thru some harrowing surgeries but wow. You are a strong soul. Idea. Print up a quick explanation of why you eat small portions and have printed on a business card then you can just hand them out and no lengthy talking about it😂. You give me such hope for people who are like you. There is a guy on here who goes by yippee ki ya i wonder i he has seen your very inspiring story. My FIL was over 500 pounds and we could never get him to lose the weight he would lose 100 even 150 and then go right back up until the next medical event ocurred. I am at his house as i type this removing the last items as they are both in heaven now and their house closes on the 21st so am filled with memories. Im so grateful for you and all those who love you that you are in the shape you are in today. God bless you my friend.

You look amazing. What a great transformation and what encouragement from someone who is struggling with digestive disorders and nothing seems to help since they took out my gallbladder. I can’t hardly eat anything I feel like I’m starving to death. Most of the time and protein is very very important, I do do collagen that I really like it doesn’t have any flavor and I can put it in anything including water. If I absolutely have to. Your thought of a Jell-O diet made me go. Maybe I need to go back to the basics and just go on a liquid diet for a little while And let my body recover and change. I’m so tired of being overweight oh and by the way, I can’t exercise much because I broke my hip and have a broken rib and a step back, but I do what I can because I’m determined any input and any ideas are greatly appreciated, if I was closer to you, I would love to shake your hand👊🫶🏼❤️‍🔥

@wifey9707 - I will summarize a post buried on my page. 2010 - Tick bite ( Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever). 2011 - The first signs of a lifetime of inflammation appeared. 2011 to 2015 - Inflammation running rampant throughout my body, damaging my joints, skin, heart, lungs, kidney, stomach, intestines, eyes, and pituitary gland. Too many NSAIDs and prednisone to ease the pain were killing me. Went on and off of disabled because you can work if you are not sleeping for days on end. Doctors wanted to consider me as depressed and not "actually sick." 2015 - Diagnosed with Crohn's disease while I was in Vietnam. 500 pounds and miserable, but kept traveling. 2015 - Marriage fell apart due to the illness. 2015 - Planning on doing irreparable harm to myself but a friend called, unplanned, just to chat. I was pretty isolated at this point. 2015 - Had a plan from a research hospital to remove the stomach and some of the intestines to damper the source of the inflammation. 2016 - Prepared the body for surgery. No guarantee I would survive. withheld all of the stress to myself, which made the condition worse. 2016 - Had my surgery. 63 days of existing on water and jello. 2016 - Started walking and walking. 2017 to 2019 - Walking 150+ miles per week. Best shape of my life. 2020 - Covid shuts world down. Dying pituitary gland. Hormonal therapy. 2021 to 2023 - Major setback. Ballooned from 205 lbs to 365 lbs. 2023 to present - Gym, keto, pissed off, more gym, and back down to 225.

Evidently YOU don’t need those organs anyway! You have done a fabulous job of surviving what would have put many in the ground. Keep up the good work and Brightest Blessings being sent your way! 🖤🧙🖤
