Well, I've had an eventful weekend already! Yesterday, I got all of my hair cut off into a short new-wavey blond look. I'm loving it. Took me until the end of the day to get used to it, but I really, really like it. It's the old me....
And then, I went to the Goodwill store to donate all of my size 14 and 16 pants that don't fit and to get some more for my transition sizes and guess what???
I'm a size 10!!!!!!!!!!!
I totally skipped size 12 -- not exactly because I've been cinching up my size 14's with a belt for a couple of months now. And I must be honest that there's still a slight muffin top with the size 10's, but I can seriously fit my ass into size 10 jeans. My goal size is a size 8, so I'm getting closer to that goal. I started this journey as a 16.
And the weirdest thing of all and the hugest boost to my ego...yesterday Phil and I went to the mall because he wanted colored undies from American Apparell. The clerks inside the store said to me and Phil, "This may sound really strange, but I really like your style. You two stand out." And then he went on to complement little things about us that made us both feel so good. I mean how often does a teenager tell two over-forty old fogeys how cool they look. :-) Strange days indeed.
I really am started to feel and look like the person I always knew I was. I just got side-lined by 10 years of fat and depression.
