Tee_Kay's Logboek, 10 nov 09

I made a Butternut Squash Ravioli stew last night for dinner, I thought it tasted pretty good, tasted even better warmed up for lunch today. 431 calories per serving. Kids were half excited about it, usually they do pretty good at trying new things. Next time I make it, I'll have to season it a little differently. Planning menus has been a great way to try out new recipes instead of being in a rut and eating all the same things.

I'm blessed because my family has always been really good about trying new things including vegetables like asparagus, brussel sprouts, artichokes, and spinach. My kids will even ask for it if we haven't had it for awhile. I'll never forget when my oldest daughter was about 7 or 8 years old (she's 16 now) and we went out for dinner and you know how the kids meals usually come with french fries, well she asked for a salad instead. The waitress did a double look at her and asked me, are you sure? I told her that's what she wanted and she ate it all.
