Maintenance is going pretty well for me so far. I'm eating like I normally would, except I'm not tracking my food. I'm really struggling and trying to train myself to listen to what my body needs, not what I want. Weight is staying around 155, which is what I want. This isn't too hard (yet).
I had a really great run yesterday. I woke up and the sky was so blue and sunny. I decided to go running in my own neighborhood, which is new for me. I usually go for a run on a trail or on a treadmill at the gym. It was an epiphany that I could go running in my own neck of the woods. I live in a beautiful part of town. The one thing that I think has been my deterrant to running in my hood is that I live in a very hilly area and the hills scare me. Well, not anymore. I've got so many goals for getting my runs done in my neighborhood. I came up with a great loop that is 5.27 miles long. The only problem is that the very last 1.07 miles is ALL up very steep hills. :-( And that's when I'm at my tiredest.
Yesterday, I stopped running at the 4.2 mile mark and then walked the rest of the way. My average mile speed was 09:05, which is awesome because it's my goal to do my next 5K at under 30 mins. BTW -- my next 5K is this weekend! Very excited. I need to figure out where/when for my May 5K. I've made it a goal to do 1 5K every month until the winter. I'm getting my tonsils out on May 22, so it will have to be before then.
