Step 1: record what I’m eating and starting to make a few smarter decisions but not kicking myself for making some mistakes. Little changes for the long term, and strength training. Walking every day as of tomorrow. One week of tracking, then reeling in the calories next week. Goal this week… keep it under 3000 a day (a feat from where I’ve come since lockdown 2021)

It’s early… Sunday morning and I’m up early. It feels so wrong after a year of what I’ve believed to be nurture when in truth it has been closer to avoidance. Given what the past 12 months have held it doesn’t really surprise me though. Time to get upright and on my weary feet. I’ve a friend to meet, keeping me honest along the way back to healthy me.

I am obsessed with food. I have autism and food for me is about so much. It’s sensory seeking, calming, soothing. I eat when happy, stressed, scared. The whole range. After losing over 30kg in 2020, I went on to unearth a heart condition which laid me up. Anxiety skyrocketed and I ended up on medication for both heart and anxiety. In 2021 more lockdowns and perimenopause kicked my arse. I have put all of the 30kg back on plus another 20.
I returned to weight training this month and feeling strong once again. Starting tomorrow I walk again. Slow at first then steady. Consistency is key. Every day. Need to reign in eating and get this train back on track. Thanks for inspiring me with ideas and approaches. Goal? Not goal… who do I want to be. I want to be a fit healthy woman who feels strong.
