Started fruit and veggie smoothies plus collagen and MSM powder for breakfast 4/18.Collagen and MSM are both supposed to be good for joint and cartilage health. So trying this out to see if this will help my back and knees 🤷🏾‍♀️.

Also noticed that since I had started back eating eggs and dairy, (cheese and ice cream specifically) and meat (seafood, chicken, bacon) AND junk food (chips, popcorn, chocolate) that my back pain has come back with a vengeance. The weather was rainy and chilly all last week so I thought that might be the culprit. And because the weather was so crappy I only got two bike rides in, so I thought that was it too. But after waking up this morning, on a sunny, warm day and having to “work “ just to get out of the bed 😖. I think I may have to give up some foods I love 🙇🏾‍♀️ So today will be meatless/dairy-free/junk food free Monday. Fruits only for snacks. And I will be back on the strict vegan diet this week. I will then add only one category of foods at a time. Next week
seafood, limited portions. If I feel ok, then the following week I’ll add chicken, then the following week, cheese. Hopefully this way I can eliminate what may be causing so much inflammation and pain and get rid of that. I would hate to have to give up everything I enjoy eating, but my body may require it.

It seems like the longer the lockdown is the harder it is for me to stay on track with my food plan. All the “bad” snacks that are in the house for the kids, I am slowly eating too 😫. I am weighing the chips out on the scale and logging it, but I really don’t want to start back with the crappy foods. It may be just in my head, but since I have been eating some junk food again, I’m waking up with pain in my back again, and my knees are hurting. Have rode my bike only twice this week, Tuesday and today, and less miles than I had been doing (5-5.5 vs 8-8.5). 😔

I did go out yesterday and bought apples, pears, oranges, bananas, rice cakes and popcorn so I could snack on that instead of the salty chips and chocolate the kids have. Just have to remind myself this is not only about keeping calories under control, but also healthy food choices to keep inflammation down and arthritis pain controlled.

Hope everyone is continuing to be safe. So many great pics and updates of people’s transformations this week have really been uplifting to see.
