Ate kettle chips and dark chocolate almonds today. So, not too surprised to see my weight up this afternoon...oh well. My period is approaching and I didn't overcome my cravings. Will have chicken and veggies for dinner to balance out the sugar.
I ran 3.5 miles and took my first spin class yesterday and my goodness it's tough on the butt! It wasn't planned to workout twice, but my husband wanted to try a spin class, so I went with him to encourage his decision to get into shape this year. Yeah, I don't think spin is for us because of the ass pain, but it certainly does make you sweat! I prefer to run anyway and he's going to find a personal trainer to get him started.

Will need to watch my portions and salt intake. I didn't overeat too much over Xmas, but certainly wasn't as diligent either.
Watched old family movies of my oldest duaghter's 1st birthday (14 years ago), and it was a bit of a shocker to see how chubby I was all those years ago. I must admit it freaked me out to see myself at probably my highest weight. However, It just reinforced my resolve to never go back there and to get my mind back on the disciplined path.
I wish you all a New Year that sees you reaching your goals and feeling your best!

December! Such a busy month, but once Xmas passes it will all calm down and I can look forward to 3 full days by myself as my husband is taking the girls to the mountains for a ski trip. I don't ski, so I'm happy to hang back and hold the fort down with our furry son. I can't even remember the last time I had so much "me" time. I will of course miss them after 1 day, but I'm going to make the most of it!
I've been drinking tons of water this past week to help with the TOM bloat and it works! It not only helped with the water retention; it also helps control my hunger. I normally go up by at least 2-3 lbs before and during TOM, but this time hardly anything.
Anyhow, I will stop rambling on...stay warm wherever you are in the world!

Ate with a lot more self-control these past few days, so it's nice to see the scale working with me. Pants are feeling good now! I guess if my biggest concern is the fit of my jeans my life is pretty good. Life is to be enjoyed, so enjoy it even if your pants right now are giving you a muffin top!

December is always a busy month filled with not only x-mas, but many family birthdays too. Lots of shopping, cooking, and planning. Maintaining your weight during the food-filled happy times is indeed challenging, so I have to plan ahead and gird myself for the onslaught of temptations.
Honestly, what keeps me in check more than anything else is my clothes. Not in a vain sense, but more from a practical point. I don't have anymore 10-15 lbs fatter clothes in my closet and what fits me now only gives me a 3-5 lbs leeway. Even with a small gain like that and my clothes are not comfy and it keeps me in line. So, I refuse to go back there and waste the thousands of dollars of new clothes I have.
I understand sacrifice and pain of losing and maintaining your happy weight. This is a lifetime commitment as we can't take our eyes off the ball without consequences.
This entry is purely for me. A reminder that I know what it takes do this, and how hard at times it can be.
