I've been eating really healthy and exercising WAY more than I normally do. I have been for 4 runs in the last week, prior to this, I haven't ran since 2001.... in grade 10, when they made me, and I walked most of it!! I can't believe I'm actually running now but I started the Couch to 5K program
Couch to 5K
and I have noticed an improvement RIGHT away. It's hard, still, but I got through it alright. I have been running a bit on pavement but trying to stick to grass because I don't want to hurt my knees and also I don't have proper running shoes, just some Sketcher Sports, which are great, but not proper running shoes... apparently good ones actually take into account your stride. Anyway I will eventually get some good ones, I just wanted to see if I stuck to it first and reward myself with good shoes later. I signed up for a 5k in August so I'm in training. Also I want to get bikini ready for summer. No more of this gaining weight in winter and losing in spring/summer, it's just too hard on my body and mind. I want to be healthy and stay that way.

Eating healthy! Check! Working out! (Well, once, so far...) Check! Signed up for the Tone It Up Bikini Series 2013 - check it out, this group is awesome... two fun, beautiful, smart girls, with a great mindset, healthy food, great workouts, fashion, fun, support, and tons of summer fun on the beach! These girls inspire me to stick with it, to get healthy. The Bikini Series is a challenge: basically, you must do at least 30 minutes of excercise per day, do 4 Booty Calls per week (where you wake up early and workout) and eat clean. 8 weeks until the first day of summer.

I feel very out of control of my body right now. I gained weight, and I can't lose it, even though I've been trying really hard.
I'm struggling with money, so eating healthy is harder, though I have been a lot more successful at cooking at home more lately. Though I do use a lot of butter. But I still figure it's better than eating out, fast food and stuff, and better for the wallet. But it's so hard to find a balance between affordable, healthy, organic, ethical, and local. And to add to that, I've been really leaning towards vegetarian eating lately, even toying with the idea of trying vegan, and that throws all my old assumptions up in the air as to what to cook.
I do love eggs but I am going to only buy organic, free-range eggs. I know the chickens still suffer, somewhat, but much less than traditional factory farms.
Not sure about cheese or other dairy products yet. I have no problem getting rid of milk itself, cut in coconut milk or soy milk instead, but I love cheese and yogurt and coffee cream.
