First Timer's Logboek, 11 mrt 14

Really having a hard time getting motivated to lose the weight. I really want to and I have bought books and DVD's. I tried a low paced exercise but I hurt my self. After cooking, cleaning and babysitting then there's no time left for me. Help some one please.

It is really hard to get motivated! At least you're moving around with all the cooking, cleaning etc... I've changed my way of eating drastically, but I need motivation to exercise. But what has helped me the most is tracking my food, carbs, etc on fatsecret. It helps make me aware of what I'm taking in each day. Last night I wanted to eat late, but I remembered that I had already surpassed my daily carb goal. Maybe you could try that? Good luck, you can do it!

I always schedule time. Just like you would schedule a doctors appointment. Remember your eating regimen is 80% of your weight loss, so regardless of your exercise habits you can still begin to lose weight! Good luck!

I agree with MarieRemie - the first step is tracking what you are eating. Log every bite you take, be honest with yourself. It should be used as a gauge to see how much of what you are eating. Then do some research - how may calories a day 'should' you eat for healthy weight loss. Then make sure it's balanced - how many carbs, how much sugar, etc. And then make good choices. I find that by working within the numbers, I can still eat and not feel like I'm depriving myself - thus I won't binge (and hate myself later). You can do this, but start with achievable goals! We are ll here for you!!!

I just joined fatsecret and believe in the plan I am about to follow: 1) Going forward i will enter everything I eat and all my exercise into fatsecret every day so my frineds can see when I am being good and when i am being bad. 2) I have to have exercise every day. 20 minutes cardio plus what ever else i can squeeze in. 3.) I will not eat after 7pm. 4.) Since I am trying to get focused I will floss every night before I go to bed;-) Summer is coming and I need to lose some weight.

Started HCG diet today. I expect to loose 6 kilos in 3 weeks. I use the fatsecret site to count calories.

The hardest part is getting started. After you've been consistently sticking with your diet and exercise routine, it becomes easier to just incorporate it into your life. I've had to start getting up at 5 a.m. to go to the gym because, like you, my evenings are full of kids, cooking, cleaning up, etc. Whatever you end up doing, give it 3 solid weeks before you quit, you should see some results before the 3 weeks are over, and then you'll want to keep it up!

If it helps, I downloaded inspirational pics to my screensavers, including a thin woman trying to get from inside a large woman, low fat recipes, low carb recipes, "just sayin" quotes, anything that might motivate me. I put the 10 lb kettle weight right where I would have to walk past it to the bathroom or to the kitchen. So I have to do a few reps lol. I put the 8 lb weight by my favorite chair so I do reps between commercials, etc. The whole idea was "not out of sight, won't be collecting dust, and I will do some reps". I have a long way to go but I keep plugging at it. Think about your health and what you need to do to keep up with your family. My family is my motivation and I do this for myself.

Maybe that exercise wasn't as low paced as you thought. How about if you just work on the food part and not worry about the exercise. It really sounds as if you're on the go most of the day as it is. Weather permitting walking with the kid or kids is a workout. Don't take on too much. Take time to take care of your self. On one of my walking dvds,Leslie Sansone said that it is selfish not to take care of yourself. By not taking care of ourselves, we are crabby, stressed and no fun.

It is hard to get motivated, but the more you do this for you, the more you can be there for others in your life. I hope you didnt hurt yourself very bad. I have to make myself exercise too. It still isnt something I enjoy, until I'm in it. I found some exercise videos on youtube... Jessica Smith tv... You can do this! Maybe start small....

All I can say, is that I started out shi**Y but really wanted it. I am slowly getting in the groove of things here. Make yourself some small goals and just start with that and see how things go from there!!! :)

I hear what you are saying I have had many problems with inspiration to get going I am also waiting on knee surgery so it makes it hard to do alot of the exercises so I now do a very slow walk with a walking stick and just do what I can and don't worry about what I can't, don't put to much pressure on yourself that I think is what makes you feel like a failure it does me anyway so I just do what I can and take one day at a time. When you go to bed try to go to sleep thinking of yourself as a thinner woman doing things as a thinner woman dancing walking faster, doing a 5k, anything that you can't seem to do now but can do if you lose a few more pounds you don't get fat overnight so you won't get thin overnight either hang in there it will happen keep faith <3

As Pennym706 said, try it for a few weeks and once you see some changes, you'll be more motivated to stick with your plan. I eat low carb now, but I just started back after falling off the wagon. But last time I did it, I didn't lose many pounds, but my body was actually slimming out! That's my motivation, wanting to feel good about myself again! You will feel so much better once you see results!
