I find it hard to count carbs for some reason. Sometimes I just want a chicken tender but 3 oz is 12 carbs! I gave up milk (I was a milk-aholic drinking 3-4 gallons a week, now down to nothing) and also having trouble with thaqt sugar is in everything, even ketchup. I am only losing 1 to 3 pounds a week and when I read about other people where the pounds are just flying off, it depresses me.

My weight loss is also very slow. I get jealous of speedy losers. But everyone is different. Keep at it!

1-3 pounds is good! The slower you lose it, the more likely you'll be to keep it off. Also it gives your skin time to shrink so it won't be as saggy and when you lose too fast. You can get sugar free ketchup. Chicken tenders breaded with parmesan cheese are very good. Almond milk with a splash of heavy cream added (to make it more like whole milk) is also very good. There is a substitute for just about everything -- you just have to plan.

Thanks guys! Low carbing and Atkins makes the most sense to me as I love meat and some fat, and I really don't miss most carbs, like bread, pasta and rice. I really want to do this as a lifestyle change, not a diet. I lost 21 pounds in 5 weeks. But in my mind, I can gain that weight back in a heartbeat and I would just feel more "secure" with more weight loss under my belt. I never want to go back to my old weight!

I love bread - croissants with butter, dinner rolls, cake, cookies, toast, garlic French bread. never have gained wright eating it my whole life. BUT in just one year, I have a spare tire around my middle - so depressing. bread is the best and no meal is complete without it. what to do?

Wheat is not the same as it used to be. 'They' have treated it and it is not good for us anymore. It makes us fat. Just google it for current research. 'Wheat Belly' is very dangerous.

When I wanted fried chicken during induction, I would coat the chicken with crushed pork rinds and fry in some oil. I hope this helps.

Don't be depressed. Your loss is slow and steady, the kind that sticks. I don't follow any of the diets, just watch calories and eat sensibly. If you want to splurge, do it, but plan it ahead and work your day around it. Don't impulse eat. That's why logging is so important. That food diary is your friend. Plan your day ahead of time and you can indulge.

Walden Farms has many different products that DO NOT contain sugar or HCFS. Some of them may need to be "dressed up", but you can't beat the no sugar, no carb, no calorie option.

I was addicted to sugar most of my life. When I started the Belly Fat Cure, the book had a great CarbCounter in the back index and you can get a pocket-sized carb counter on amazon.com. handy to have. Now, since I gave up sugar and white flour, I don't have cravings at all. And it happened right away. If you're eating what your body needs for nourishment, cravings subside and then disappear.

I just looked up Walden farms this morning have my order written out what I want. Do get down unless you plan on push ups. Everyone is different. Some people can and eat and gain nothing you eat one chip and well. You will get to where you want to be. Losing 1-3 lbs a week that is great.

I know it is hard.. but please do not compare yourself to others. It can be dangerous. Why, you might get discouraged and say "crap it all I give up!" and go back to your old ways. To be honest without, losing 1 to 3 lbs a week is really better for your body, then losing 4 or 5 lbs a week. You need to TRY to remember where you were at, before your life style change, do you feel any better? Are you hurting less? DO you have more energy now? Then when you were? Also remember that this is a life style change! Not a diet! IF you eat right the lbs will come off, slowly but surely. But that is fine, it is still coming off. Also it did not take you over night to gained weight, and it will not be over night to take it off. Hang in there.. keep looking forward, you lost weight.. great! Fantastic! Keep going...
