First day of Phase I. I know I'm going to be just grouchy as heck by day 3, but I'm determined to make it work. I weighed in less than I thought this morning, so I thought I would adjust accordingly. Hereafter, I'm only checking my weight weekly (will be hard to do as I my routine has been to either depress or elate myself each morning by checking my weight before each shower).

One day at a time...you can do this. Many people are guilty of weighing everyday...i have done it myself...that darn number means something unfortunately...I try to remember a couple of things...working out - you replace muscle with fat - scale may not move, Inches count too and the way clothes fit! Good luck.

I do weigh daily and I attribute it to me success so far. In my health and fitness magazine "Shape", I read an article that said how important it is to weigh daily when attempting a new diet or fitness plan, how else can you tell what is working and what isn't? If you eat a food that makes you gain, you won't know what that trigger was if you weigh yourself a week after eating it. you may have lost or gained that week, but you'd have no idea about that trigger food you would have missed seeing by not weighing in. I have lost weight nearly every single week since starting SB, but I have had many gains. I had a 3.5 pound gain after a buffet where I did not cheat but there were foods I wasnt exactly sure of the exact ingredients. I gained 2 pounds after having pork. I gain every time I have a high sodium day. I gain if I have processed meats. I know this from weighing in everyday. I don't want the scale to trick or surprise me, I want to learn how my body reacts to different foods, the only way I can do that is by weighing every day. you have to do whats best for you, this is just what was best and made sense for me. Best wishes, you can do this!

Thanks for all the well wishes! Regarding daily weigh in, for me, it was more of a let down. Not that my being a nurse makes me more knowledgeable or anything, but I know that I will gain/retain fluids when having consumed restaurant meals (typically higher in sodium) and high sodium/processed foods. I want stepping on the scale to mean something to me. If I can avoid doing so until my weekly weigh in, I will ideally see a more substantial difference. For some, weighing daily is key - for me, it's frustrating.

yep, have to do whats best for you. I have food allergies and intolerances, so weighing daily has helped me identify them. I had no idea of all those foods and how badly they effected me. DUH, well I learn every day. LOL Best wishes to you!
