Amanda, let us know when you hear something on the job. It sounds like it could be a done deal..... I have no room to talk about the poor choices you made yesterday. I, for one, have been there. All we can do is learn to better prepare ourselves for days like that.

Good luck on the job. It sounds like you have decided it is what you want.
Hopefully you can get back on track with the food. I've been having trouble myself for a few days getting all my veggies in.

OK - The job is mine...... but I probably won't get it. I have to do a background check - no problem there but they now do a credit check! I don't see how I will pass that. I have terrible credit. When I was laid off in 2008 we had a really really hard time finding jobs and we were way over our heads in debt. My house was forclosed and I let my new car go back. I should have filed bankruptcy but I didnt and now my credit is shot. Well, like I said if it is meant to be it will happen, if not then maybe that is what is best for me and my family. I sent my resume over to a home health agency that is looking for a clerical position. I should know within a few days how my credit/background check went.

You know I feel bad that my credit is awful but when you are faced with the choice of paying your $1200 a month rent and $750 worth of car payment, or feeding your kids there really is no choice is there?

I think thats another thing that the government and all the analysts are overlooking---if you get laid off and suddenly have to live on MUCH less income, you let things slide that you wouldnt usually let slide out of necessity. Then when the new job credit check happens, its no wonder our scores are low!! Im hoping they overlook it, since SO many americans have been impacted in this way....good luck amanda!

Well hopefully they can overlook this issue as it did happen right after you were laid off from THEM! You are not the only person experiencing this right now. Unfortunately for you - you lost your job. There's really no help there. But those people that bought houses (that they couldn't even afford in their wildest dreams to begin with) and can't afford them now are getting the help from good old USA. Sorry, had to vent. It's terrible. Hopefully it'll be fine. But if not, it's not meant to be and better things will be coming your way.

Amanda, just remember that all things happen in God's time and in His way. If this is the path that you are meant to take, if this is where He wants you to be, it will happen. If not, then he has something better planned for you! Regardless of which one it is I wish you the best of luck! I do think it would be very hard working so far away and only seeing your babies one night a week and weekends. Just my thoughts.

Are you handling money at this job? I do not understand why else a business would have to do a credit check...that would exclude a lot of people trying to get work to get thier credit back on track! This government is whacked...no offense :)

I wouldnt be handeling cash... but I would be handeling checks. Millions of dollars worth a month. I would be responsible for taking the rent payments for commercial leases, applying the payment to the accounting software and getting the deposit to the bank via courier. I know it is going to be really hard on me if I do get the job but also very hard if I don't find something before my temp job runs out. I faxed my resume to another local place today and I have been calling the local staffing company to let them know I am still looking too.
