The weather has been cloudy and the Oracle (weatherperson) says it is going to rain later, but that the temperature will continue to warm. This is good news as it means I can start taking up adventures outside of the Inn (apartment building). I wonder if there will be any sprites along the trail by the Jordan Creek that runs through the meadow (park). Adventures to be had.

Today I had an adventure with a slime that had wandered its way into the kitchen. Where do these things come from? Anyways, I dispatched it with my mace, then dispatched the mess in the kitchen. The Inn Keeper suggested, admittedly a bit cheekily, that while I had the broom and mop out I might as well do the floor in the latrine as well. I suppose tomorrow I will clean the latrine proper, even though it will have to be done again the next day all over as the General Inspector (Apartment Manager) will be coming by for an inspection of all the quarters that are due for such turmoil and stress. It did exercise the muscles in my back quite thoroughly. Later, carpets as the dust bunnies must be conquered!

Cooking for this way of eating has continued to prove itself enjoyable. It is reminding me of time spent with my grandmother has a wee one as she, as am I, is from the Southern lands and cooking with butter and the like is comforting. Of course, I have to cut out the flour part, but still nice. Needing to remember all of the old tricks to get things to come out just right. I did not find myself brave enough this morning to try the coconut oil in the coffee, I may try to wrestle with my courage tomorrow morning for that treat. The food is delicious and filling. I am enjoying this, which is different than where I have been the last 14 months of calorie counting. The beast of ghrelin is starting to be tamed.

Today I am finding more energy than usual. I am not certain if this is from the dietary changes or the electric-shock treatments, or perhaps both. It feels nice to have the darkness lift from my heart. If it is from the dietary changes as well as the treatments (as there had been some improvement) then I shall continue on with this adventure until something changes its course.

Today was an adventure. I was led astray by my own self-assuredness, which can lead anyone into trouble as it can lead to cockiness and it is too soon to be cocky. I am just a level one cleric after all. I have yet to be able to swing my mace (aka my free weight bar) without endangering the plants. Now, that I have gotten out of my great slumber it is time to start moving again.

I joined a small ramble of women in the morning for some socialization and idle chit-chat. I carefully measured out the cream thinking that I knew precisely what I was doing and getting with it. Alas, I discovered upon my return and examination that I was wrong. I had gotten double of what I was bargaining for and it had not even given a proper taste to the coffee. Sadly, I think I will give up this brown, invigorating beverage if I cannot compensate for its bitterness with cream.

I found that I was short on equipment and had to make a quick trip to the local Apothecary (Walgreens) to acquire the sticks for testing Ketones. A young woman behind the counter was kind enough to confirm I had picked up the wrong sticks and to not only hand me the correct ones but the cheaper ones on hand enabling me to save some of my precious gold and silver. Jewelry making with stretchy bands does lend one to a grand fortune. I do like how she called it her brand, showing pride in her shop. I also picked up a zingy elixir promising "No Carbs," but alas I was fooled upon my later divining its ingredients. It had happened again, this fooling business had to come to an end. I simply didn't have the points left to maneuver.

I left the shop and headed back. The sky was cloudy and the wind had chilled a bit in my short time inside. There were dogs running wildly amongst the grass while their humans watched. I didn't have time to stand by and enjoy the sight; I had to return to the Inn (apartment). I headed off down the trail that runs alongside Jordan Creek watching the minnows swimming as I crossed the bridge. I braced myself for the Hill of Wind Stealing to come. It's a rather long hill that starts with a slight incline for about a block, then is dramatic incline for 3/4 of a block, back to a slight incline for another block, making it a difficult climb as there is not much of a break once it gets started. Triumphantly, I made it up to the top of the hill without having to stop even once.

Given my options left for food I had to make a decision. I could continue on with my plan by I would be over in Honey coins for the day, or I could change entirely what I planned to eat and stay within budget. Sure, the barkeep is nice and may allow me to slip things by from time to time, but why start off in such a way? I decided to switch it up, and I believe I ended up with a more enjoyable meal out of it.

All in all it has not been a bad day. There have been some hiccups, but they have been conquered. I have learned. I am wiser. I will do better tomorrow. Tomorrow, I think I will swing my mace around a bit.

I've made the official switch to Atkins/Low-Carb. The reason for me is not just out of looking for a trend, but based on my lab work. My insulin level is at 22 with a max of 24 and preferred level of 8. How do you get your body to stop shoving so much insulin into your blood stream? You reduce the carbs you take in. One of the other reasons my body pushes out extra insulin is because I have PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome) that also jacks up my blood sugar levels. So, I have things messing with my blood sugar in my body, on medication that can also trigger insulin release...yeah...I don't need to complicate things with my diet. So, today was my first day on it. I am hoping to improve each day. I have also changed my sleep/wake cycle to get better with medication that I have to take as well. Lots of changes. Here's to hoping for good results.
